Bokharas are very popular for their affordability, soft, luxurious feel, heavy pile, attractive colours and appearance. "Pakistani Bokhara" is used to describe modern Tekke-faced rugs made in Pakistan that are among the most popular handmade rugs in the world. Using a combination of NZ worsted and local Pakistani wool on a cotton base, the Pakistani Bokhara has a very soft and thick pile. The design here is known as the "Elephant Foot pattern" with synthetic dyes used to achieve the rich and vibrant colours. We have shown photographs from both ends of these rugs to indicate the difference in appearance depending from where you view your rug.
These Bokhara rugs are available in 5 colourways, 8 rectangular small to large sizes and 6 Runner sizes [elswhere on this site]
Because these Area rugs and carpets are Hand Knotted there is a greater tolerance in the sizing and therefore the sizes quoted are minimum standard values though the actual rugs can be upto +5% above these.
